Dr. Couch was born and raised on the Southwest Florida coast and has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was in kindergarten. She has worked in the veterinary industry since she was 16 years old, starting as a kennel technician and working her way towards becoming a veterinarian. She received her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Business Administration at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL in 2016. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL in 2020. Go Gators!
Dr. Couch has called Asheville home since 2021. In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband (Chad) and golden retriever (Franklin), reading with her two senior cats (Gypsy and Pebbles), practicing yoga, and tending to her plants/garden.
Even before veterinary school, she was interested in natural remedies. She studied Acupuncture, Herbal medicine and Food therapy at Chi University and Veterinary Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy) at The University of Tennessee. She has a passion for integrating eastern medicine and western medicine together to provide the most comprehensive, holistic, treatment plans for her patients. She is also fear free certified and believes veterinary care should be positive experiences for both pets and their owners. Thus Magnolia Integrative Veterinary Services was born! Pets are more comfortable in the natural environment, their home. Senior pets and those that suffer from pain would greatly benefit from acupuncture, but it is hard to get them to a traditional vet clinic for services. That’s why Dr. Couch comes to you!
