Dr. Kimberly Couch, DVM, CVA

My Story

I was born and raised on the Southwest Florida coast, and I’ve wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember—since kindergarten, in fact. I began working in the veterinary field at 16, starting as a kennel technician and gradually gaining experience in many roles before pursuing my lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian.

I earned my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry, with a minor in Business Administration, from Florida Southern College in 2016. I then went on to receive my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2020—Go Gators! My education and clinical training provided a strong foundation in traditional Western veterinary medicine, which I now integrate with holistic approaches to offer thoughtful, well-rounded care.

I’ve called Asheville home since 2021 and feel incredibly grateful to live and work in such a vibrant community. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, Chad, and our golden retriever, Franklin. At home, you’ll often find me reading alongside my two senior cats, Gypsy and Pebbles, practicing yoga, or tending to my ever-growing collection of plants and garden.

My Philosophy

My passion for integrative veterinary medicine began even before veterinary school, driven by a deep interest in natural, whole-body healing. I’ve completed advanced training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and food therapy through Chi University, as well as veterinary rehabilitation (physical therapy) through the University of Tennessee.

I believe the most effective care comes from combining the best of Eastern and Western medicine. By integrating these approaches, I’m able to create personalized, holistic treatment plans that support comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life—not just symptom relief.

As a Fear Free certified veterinarian, I’m committed to making care as calm and positive as possible for both pets and their families. Magnolia Integrative Veterinary Services was created with that goal in mind. Because pets are often most relaxed at home, especially seniors or those living with pain, I offer in-home acupuncture and integrative services—bringing thoughtful, compassionate care directly to where your pet feels safest.
